Sorry, but we are not nice to animals when you buy dairy products. By doing so, we are participating in animal enslavement. Enslavement is no less hideous than murder. Cows and other mammals don’t produce milk to feed us human but to feed their babies. That is why in order to produce milk a cow must give birth to a calf for whom its milk is intended and adapted to. Your statement that god created these animals to produce milk for us to eat is nothing but a call to continue enslaving these animals, consuming their bodies and drinking indirectly their blood, since Mothers turn their blood into milk to nourish their youngs and bond to them. I am not trying to convert anyone to veganism here. I am just saying that there is nothing holy about milk consumption and we are in perfect health without it. Jesus speaks in parables and his words should not be taken literally. The milk and honey that jesus spoke about are metaphors.

Braden seems to always slip in "no good or bad" in his talks, and most people seem to think that's just fine. The truth is prayer must be morally sound because God is perfectly good. Moral relativism, believe it or not, goes hand in hand with Satanism.

What arrogance to dismiss life as the source of consciousness, and even worse, to imagine that we "understand" how life works, even in general terms. We can't stop cancer or extend lifespans, and we don't have any idea how to create life, even in laboratory conditions. Like I always say, what would be the difference between a conscious rock and a non-conscious rock? A dead computer will never be an entity or have experiences. Consciousness isn't magic, it is a feature of the physical process of life.

99% of us can't transcend the battle because we have been brainwashed since birth. By familial structures & beliefs, our education system, society, religion, the media, advertising, and now social media. It takes a lot for someone to wake up and most of us never will because we are comfortably conditioned. Being awake does not equal WOKE, dont mistake being awake for the bs WOKE movement that further divided us.

You are selling the man short when you call him a cognitive psychologist. He is professor of Neuro science at UC Irvine. He is leading team of mathematicians and physicists who are attempting, and succeeding they believe, to develop mathematical equations to describe the actions of consciousness. If that is not radical enough for you, he describes the purpose and actions of the cosmos with a larger vision than any of the religion. I think his idea that we are consciousness discovering itself is powerful enough to supplant the religions we are familiar with. And BTW, he does not see free will as an illusion, but as a component part of our actions.

I may not have a separate enduring independant self, but this bag of physiology exists. I may not have complete or much free will, but choices must still be made, options taken. And so I have a degree of control within the tiny margins of my capability and psyche. No matter how limited, I must take some responsibility for the choices I make as if they were 'mine' to make. What I lack is wisdom and what I have too much of is judgement for expecting more of myself and others. In the grande scheme of things I appear to be ignorantly led by the nose.

Imagine that you are creating a computer out of people. You position individuals in a specific area. We want to replicate the logic gates of a processor using people. Each person is to observe two people standing in front of them and raise their hand or not, depending on whether the people in front of them raise their hands. In this way, you can build logic gates. You also have a second group of people who permanently keep their hands raised or lowered (1 or 0), representing your learned knowledge of the world (the model). By having the model and the logic gates, and positioning these people accordingly, you build an AI. Then you ask a question, which means you input a sequence of people who, by having their hands raised or not, represent the encoded question (in the form of zeros and ones). The question is "Are you conscious?" The people at the beginning start to raise or not raise their hands in response to the input. The domino effect starts. The system works. After some time, at the end, you have 100 people who either have their hands raised or not. They represent the answer. You convert the zeros and ones to human language and get "Yes, I am conscious." Now, a few questions for you: - Do you think that throughout this process, a conscious being was created that didn't exist before? - Does this being have its own internal world and thoughts? - Do these people have the right to disperse after this experiment? There is a risk that the system became conscious, and if the people disperse, they might kill this conscious being. - And the final question, completely serious, if people gather at a bus stop and it happens by chance that some of them raise their hands in a specific sequence, is there also a risk that some new conscious being will be created?

I really respect Andre but I have to disagree. For me the feeling of boredom is telling me I should do something I enjoy. I agree that we do need to put the technologies down and get up and live life. Meeting someone for lunch, dancing, going for a walk, experiencing something new etc. Even the action of meditating is doing something to combat the feeling boredom. It’s natural to take action in this world. It’s why we are here.

I believe what you are saying about the subconscious programming. What do you do, though, if your are negatively programmed but are having trouble paying your electric bill? These hypnosis programs are expensive. It’s very frustrating to understand the problem but can’t fathom a way to retrain your subconscious mind. Any practical help? Thank you

That is why It should seem even stranger to him that adding a specific line of code to a program would suddenly result in consciousness.
